Spirit of Math Vancouver Campus is a structured after-school math enrichment program for high-performing students. Located on West 4th Avenue in Vancouver, the program goes beyond regular school mathematics through advanced curriculum, drills, problem solving and collaborative group work. Spirit of Math is designed for students who are already performing strongly in math and want a faster-paced, more challenging mathematics program. It is a class-based enrichment program rather than conventional private, homework or catch-up tutoring.
New students complete a placement/admission process and are generally expected to have a B+ or higher overall school average; meeting that threshold does not guarantee admission. Classes meet weekly and include assigned Spirit of Math homework, with additional homework-help sessions available for the program's own curriculum. Spirit of Math's overall program serves students through Grade 11, while the current 2026–27 Vancouver Campus timetable lists classes from Senior Kindergarten through Grade 9. Mathematics contests and contest-style problem solving are part of the broader enrichment experience, and Spirit of Math also offers summer camps at participating campuses, including Vancouver.
Teaching approach: Spirit of Math organizes instruction around four main elements: core curriculum, drills, problem solving and collaborative group work. Students work beyond the standard classroom curriculum, developing mathematical fluency, logical reasoning, problem-solving strategies and the ability to explain and discuss mathematical ideas with peers. The program is structured as a 39-week school-year program with weekly classes and assigned homework.
