About Calgary Tutoring Centre

Calgary Tutoring Centre is a Calgary tutoring company founded in 2002 by owner Alex Azarnousch. It works with elementary (Grades 1–6), junior high (Grades 7–9), senior high (Grades 10–12) and university/college students. Its main model is one-on-one tutoring, and it also publishes an option for small groups of up to three students in the same grade working on the same material. Sessions take place in students' homes, at libraries or other agreed locations such as coffee shops, or online through live one-on-one sessions. Subjects listed on its current site are Math, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, English, Science, Social Studies and French. Math support follows the Alberta curriculum from elementary math through the Math 10C/10-3, Math 20 and Math 30 streams, with separate university and college math support. Beyond course content, tutoring covers homework and assignments, exam preparation, and study and organizational skills. The company serves Calgary and says it also serves surrounding areas; families outside Calgary should confirm availability directly. Calgary Tutoring Centre is not presented here as a public walk-in tutoring centre — tutoring is delivered in-home, at agreed locations or online.

Teaching approach: Calgary Tutoring Centre describes a personalized approach aligned with the Alberta curriculum. Its stated focus is on understanding fundamental concepts and applying them to new problems rather than only completing assignments, building independent thinking and problem-solving skills, developing study habits and organization, and building confidence. Tutors are matched to each student's academic needs and learning style.
