Ace It Tutoring Centre is a physical tutoring centre on the third floor of the Douglasdale Professional Centre in southeast Calgary. It works only with high-school-age students in Grades 9–12 and covers Math, Chemistry, Biology, Physics and general Science. Unlike a booked private-tutoring service, Ace It runs as a shared drop-in centre. No appointment is needed: students come in whenever the centre is open and, under the current membership model, can stay as long as they need. Several tutors are on hand at once, and when a student gets stuck, a tutor sits with them one-to-one until the concept makes sense. The one-on-one help happens inside this shared setting; it is not an exclusive booked session. The centre is set up as a focused, low-distraction study space, and students can move between the supported Math and Science subjects in a single visit. Ace It also runs separate, structured Alberta Diploma Exam Prep courses, which are taught in a classroom format rather than as drop-in help. Ace It currently offers a free first drop-in evening, so students can try the centre before joining.
Teaching approach: Ace It's team emphasizes understanding concepts rather than memorizing them, breaking complex ideas into simpler steps and working through examples. Students are encouraged to ask questions, practise problem solving and build strong fundamentals, at their own pace, with the goal of becoming more independent and confident learners.
1. Students register for the centre's flat-rate membership. 2. No appointment is needed for regular tutoring. 3. Students can drop in Sunday through Thursday during tutoring hours. 4. They bring the math or science course material, homework, assignments, test review or concepts they want to work on. 5. Students work on their own when appropriate and get individual tutor help when questions come up. 6. Tutors sit with students one-to-one to explain difficult concepts and work through examples. 7. Under the membership, students can get help across several supported Math and Science subjects. Ace It's current FAQ describes the regular membership as unlimited in-person tutoring: students may attend as often as they need and stay as long as needed during open tutoring hours. This is Ace It's own current membership model, so confirm the terms directly.
Ace It Tutoring does not charge regular drop-in tutoring by the hour. Its current model uses a flat-rate membership that allows students to attend during open tutoring evenings as often as needed. The current regular membership dollar amount is not publicly listed, so families should contact Ace It for current fees and payment details. Dedicated Diploma Prep courses are currently listed at $195 per course, or $125 per course for Ace It members, observed October 5, 2026. Currently published discounts: Early Bird 10% off when registering at the start of the semester; 10% off for a second sibling/student; 25% off for a third sibling/student; 10% off for Grade 9 students. Ace It's current FAQ says discounts can stack. Discounts and prices can change; confirm current terms directly with Ace It.

Founder Michael Zhuhovitsky tutors Math, Chemistry, Physics and Calculus and, according to the official team page, has more than 18 years of tutoring experience. He holds a BSc in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Calgary, worked in industry before opening the centre, and personally interviews, hires and trains Ace It's tutors. The rest of the team is mainly University of Calgary students and recent graduates in Engineering, Science and Health, with backgrounds such as biomedical sciences, neuroscience, biomedical and software engineering, chemistry, kinesiology and computer science. Some tutors are still undergraduate students, and tutors are not described as certified teachers.
