Teachers' Tutoring Service is a long-running non-profit tutoring organization that matches New Westminster students with professional tutors for in-person and online lessons. In-person tutoring is generally arranged in the student's home or another mutually agreed local location, such as a library, community centre or tutor's home, rather than at a New Westminster storefront. In-person availability may be limited. Math support ranges from elementary school through Grade 12 and college or university mathematics. Exact supported BC courses include Math 8 and 9, Foundations of Mathematics and Pre-Calculus 10, Foundations 11 and 12, and Pre-Calculus 11 and 12. TTS can match families with tutors who have experience supporting students with learning differences. Availability depends on tutors currently serving New Westminster. One-student tutoring currently costs $57 per hour with no minimum lesson commitment or contract.
One-to-one tutoring is the standard TTS model. Two-student and other group arrangements may also be available depending on tutor availability. Tutors and families arrange schedules directly.
One-student tutoring is $57 per hour. Two-student tutoring is $67 per hour, with other group rates available. TTS has no minimum lesson commitment, no long-term contract and does not charge GST. For university/college courses a tutor may adjust the rate when extra work is required.
