RM Tutoring – Edmonton

About RM Tutoring – Edmonton

RM Tutoring serves families in Edmonton, St. Albert and Sherwood Park with a dedicated Edmonton tutor roster. There is no public walk-in centre: sessions run online, in the student's home, or at a designated library. Current designated Edmonton-area meeting locations are EPL Whitemud Crossing, EPL Heritage Valley, EPL Castle Downs, EPL Strathcona and the University of Alberta's Rutherford Library. Formats and locations vary by tutor, so not every tutor offers every option. Some individual tutors report experience supporting students with ADHD and autism.

Teaching approach: RM Tutoring's published approach includes: Process over Problem — emphasizing the method rather than only the answer; Micro-Testing/Repetition — students practise concepts independently shortly after instruction and revisit them as needed; "You Teach Me" — students explain concepts back to the tutor to demonstrate understanding; Understanding How and Why — emphasis on conceptual reasoning instead of only memorizing procedures; and adapting instruction to each student's learning needs and pace.

How Tutoring Works

Families contact RM Tutoring and are matched with an Edmonton-area tutor based on the course and the student's needs. If you live in St. Albert or Sherwood Park, or want a south-side or north-side library, mention it when you get in touch so RM can match you with a tutor who covers that area or format. RM currently advertises a free initial 30-minute online session to check whether the student and tutor are a good fit.
