Kumon of Nanaimo — Applecross is a Math and Reading centre at Applecross Centre. Students begin with a free placement assessment and progress independently through Kumon's sequenced curriculum. The math program builds from foundational arithmetic into algebra, trigonometry, calculus, probability and statistics. Students can use Kumon to close learning gaps or progress beyond their school grade. The Nanaimo centre currently publishes in-centre classes Monday through Thursday and a Tuesday virtual class. Current tuition is available directly from the centre.
Teaching approach: Students work independently through individualized Kumon worksheets in a shared centre environment with instructor guidance. This is neither private one-to-one nor conventional small-group tutoring.
Class hours (in-centre): Monday–Thursday 2:30 PM–6:00 PM; no Friday, Saturday or Sunday class hours published. Virtual class: Tuesday 3:00 PM–6:00 PM. Friday 1:00 PM–9:00 PM is business time, not class time. Worksheets assigned for home practice are part of the Kumon program, not school-homework tutoring.
Contact the centre for current tuition and registration fees. Kumon is priced monthly per subject, not hourly; temporary promotions are not standard tuition.
